Since our first vintage in 1980, Kenwood has garnered attention for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc and the vintage of 2014 continues the tradition. A generous palate boasting layers of flavor including lime, lemon zest and lemon grass that are joined by tropical notes of Guava and passion fruit. Crisp in texture with bright acidity followed by a fresh and zesty finish.
The fruit for our Reserve Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from our best vineyards in the Russian River and Sonoma Valleys. At ripeness, the fruit was picked by hand in the cool pre-dawn hours and brought to the winery for gentle pressing and then fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, a portion of the blend was aged in neutral French oak upright casks. These casks allow the wine to gently finish fermentation without imparting any oak character to the wine. The wine has concentrated varietal character with delicious fruit notes.
This refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is best served slightly chilled with light fare, such as appetizers, seafood and salads.
