The Yulupa Zinfandel comes from select vineyards that were picked at the peak of ripeness to increase the intense fruitiness of the wine. Aromas of cherries and fig combine with spicy notes of white pepper and nutmeg. This flavorful wine has an excellent mouthfeel and smooth tannins.
Mild weather in the spring and summer contributed to a nearly perfect growing season. The grapes were harvested at the peak of flavor in early October of 2012. When fermentation was complete, the wine was placed into French and American oak barrels and aged for 18 months creating complexity of bouquet and softened tannins. Before bottling, a small amount of Syrah was added to the blend to provide complexity and body.
This fresh and vibrant wine is the perfect choice for pastas, grilled meats and barbeque.
