Maxwell Burns

Maxwell grew up in a small community in New England, equal distance from New York City and Boston. Local farms, food and restaurants were an important part of his childhood.

“I am continuing my quest to learn more, and educate consumers on the wonderful world of Sonoma wine.”

Maxwell studied food, wine & hospitality at The Culinary Institute of America in New York. During college he worked part-time at Millbrook Vineyard/Winery in the New York’s Hudson Valley AVA where he learned about the hard work of tending vines and making wine in an unforgiving environment.

After graduating, Maxwell worked in various fine dining restaurants, which ultimately lead him to Napa and Sonoma. He worked with Mumm Napa and now Kenwood Vineyards for the past four years, and has recently received his Certified Specialist of Wine certification.
