Jack London Vineyard Sonoma Mountain Zinfandel 2019

Since our first vintage in 1987, the Jack London Zinfandel vineyard has produced flavorful wines with excellent fruit and well-rounded tannins. The climatic conditions and long, cool growing season of Sonoma Mountain create complexity and balance in the fruit. The influence of the vineyard’s red volcanic soil and the fruity characteristics of the grapes combine to produce an outstanding and distinctive Zinfandel.

WINEMAKERS NOTES

The 2019 vintage had a wet spring followed by beautiful summer temperatures typical for Sonoma Mountain, leading to even ripening. The fruit was harvested in the cool morning of October 15th. The tannin developed quickly in the tank and the Zinfandel was pressed off after an unusually short maceration of only 10 days. The finished wine was then aged in French and American oak barrels, 30% new oak, for 19 months.
