The grapes were hand-harvested in the early morning hours of September 17th, 2022 and destemmed and sorted to tank. After a lengthy cold soak, the wine stayed on the skins for 16 days before being pressed off then barreled down. After 12 months in barrel the winemakers selected the best oak expressions for this blend at 67% new French oak and 33% new Hungarian oak.
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of fresh violets, blackberry cobbler set the stage for flavors of more dark fruit, plum, red velvet cake with focused acidity supported by spiced oak. The wine is lush, juicy and inviting in its fruit forward persona.
