Single Vineyard Olivet Pinot Noir 2016

Located in the heart of the Russian River Valley on Olivet Road, this vineyard is one of the first that we sourced Pinot Noir from in the 1990s and two decades later it remains one of our best. The vineyard has the perfect combination of Goldridge sandy- loam soil combined with the cool and foggy Russian River climate that creates the perfect terroir for Pinot Noir.

Winemakers Notes

The 2016 vintage had a dry growing season with a moderate crop load. Mild weather contributed to slow ripening and intense flavor of our Pinot Noir grapes. Picked by hand at night, the grapes were destemmed into stainless steel tanks and cold soaked before fermentation. After 3 weeks the young wine was pressed off the skins, settled and racked into small French oak barrels for 14 months of aging. Intense fruit aromas of cherry and plum are joined by hints of dusty oak. This wine is full-bodied with a rich mouthfeel, and subtle traces of coriander and cinnamon that lead to an elegant, long finish.
