Dry Creek Valley Merlot 2014
The rocky and well-drained soil of the Dry Creek Valley produces wines with densely-concentrated character and rich flavor. The third consecutive year of drought, the 2014 vintage had a long and dry growing season with mild temperatures making for concentrated and intensely flavored fruit.
The vines were harvested in September when the grapes had reached their peak of flavor. The fruit was then crushed and destemmed before fermenting on the skins for three weeks. The young wine was pressed and settled before transfer into French and American oak barrels for 19 months. After aging, only our best barrels of Dry Creek Merlot were selected and blended for bottling. 100% of the wines used for this blend were sourced from our Estate Dry Creek Vineyard.
