Sonoma County Zinfandel 2014
The majority of the fruit used to produce the 2014 vintage was sourced from vineyards located in the Dry Creek Valley long known for crafting superior Zinfandel. Like the prior vintage, the 2014 growing was dry and temperate with excellent weather for producing superior wine grapes.
Harvest began late September when the individual vineyards reached their peak of flavor. Each vineyard lot was fermented and aged separately in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels for 20 months. After aging, the wines were blended for taste and balance and just prior to bottling a small amount of Petite Sirah was added to bring additional complexity and backbone
