Rosé of Pinot Noir 2018

The sprawling Sonoma Coast appellation embraces Sonoma County’s coastline, while spreading north to Mendocino and south to San Pablo Bay. Although this vast region encompasses both the Russian River and Carneros appellations, it is known for its cool climate and long growing season due to the cooling breezes from the nearby Pacific Ocean. This unique terroir is ideal for producing wines with intense flavors and strong character, and is critically hailed as one of the best areas to grow Pinot Noir.

Winemakers Notes

Significant Spring rainfall and a sunny but mild growing season gave us an above average crop for the 2018 vintage. The vineyard block for our Rose of Pinot Noir in the Russian River region of Sonoma County was harvested on September 6th - earlier than usual in order to take advantage of the bright acidity in the grapes. We use stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures for fermentation and bottled the wine only four months after the grapes were picked to maintain the fresh fruity aromas. Aroma: Bright with white peach, nectarine and delicate hints of ripe strawberries and jasmine. Palate: Well-rounded with fruit flavors of peach, cantaloupe, bright granny smith apple and a crisp refreshing finish
