WINEMAKERS NOTES

At the northwestern boundary of the warm Alexander Valley these noble Petite Sirah vines produce a dark and broad-shouldered ageable wine that requires careful attention due to the thick skins of this variety. Hand harvested in the cool hours of the morning and delivered to the winery for destemming with a high degree of whole berries to preserve the joyful fruity nuance to balance the powerful tannic profile. after fermentation completed in tank the wine was barreled down for 17 months in a mix of 55% new French and American barrels to soften the tannins prior to racking back to tank and bottling.
