Rugged Elements Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir 2022

2022 featured several curve balls from Mother Nature with frost in the spring, continued drought conditions and a large heat spike in early September. Fortunately, the late spring and entire summer conditions were along the lines of average and ideal temperatures in the Petaluma Gap AVA. Our Single Vineyard Pinot Noir grapes were night harvested on September 9th. We destemmed the grapes into stainless steel tanks and fermented for 14 days on the skins before sending the free run to oak barrels where the wine aged 9 months prior to be pumped out of barrel for bottling.
